関 晴子 hARUKO SEKI
Director, Landscape Architect & Garden Designer
Haruko is a Japanese garden designer as well as an landscape architect qualified in the UK. She has been an associate member of the Landscape Institute UK since 2001.
After working for 9 years as an urban designer in Tokyo, Haruko moved to the UK in 1997, qualified with a Diploma in Garden Design at the Inchbald School of Design 1998 and obtained MA Landscape Architecture at the University of Greenwich 2001. She worked at Groundwork Thames Gateway London South as landscape architect from 2001 to 2004, set up Studio Lasso in 2005. Since then Haruko collaborates with artists / designers from across the world.
Haruko has taken part in domestic/ international competitions since 2000, and have been awarded several prizes including awards at Chelsea Flower Show, GWC Huis Ten Bosch in Ngasaki and Grand Gold Award at Shenzhen International Flower Show. Haruko also has been invited and giving lectures in the UK, Japan and Italy. Haruko was a visiting professor at Tokyo Zokei University in Japan 2014 -2021.
井本沙織 SAORI IMOTO
Landscape Designer & Gardener
Saori Imoto is an award winning garden designer who also works as a gardener in Japanese gardens. She won a silver-guilt prize at Blenheim Palace Flower Show and a first prize at Christ Church Redesign Competition in Southwark, London. She exhibits ‘Japanese Summer Garden’ at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2016. She has Master's degree in Landscape Design and Bachelor's degree in Environmental and Ecological Study in Japan, furthermore Garden Design Diploma in the UK. Her approach towards garden design is inspired by her life in Kamakura, a historic town surrounded by beautiful nature and traditional Japanese gardens. Her keen sense developed in Kamakura and in-depth knowledge on both design and environmental areas enable the space to become a serene Japanese world in harmony with nature.
郷家沙織 SAORI GOKE
Landscape Architect & Gardener
Saori Goke is a qualified Landscape Architect, graduating from Sheffield University with an MA in 2012. She also has a degree in Agricultural Science from Japan. She has contributed to design works for several contemporary garden design projects undertaken by Studio Lasso. Saori also actively works in garden maintenance and has an RHS Level 2 certificate in Plant Growth, Propagation and Development.
